I have found there to be three (3) main manufacturers of these: Kirst, Howell and Taylor. The first and main concern is that the Firearm is NOT modified in any shape or manner. It MUST remain "original". It is used, but not abused and wish it to be un-molested.

(just by a hair) I mic’ed the dimensions to verify and also read other forums regarding this as well. But the older 70’s vintage ASMs had slightly bigger arbors than today’s Uberti equivalents. I have both an early R&D cylinder and a Kirst gated cylinder for the Remington 1858, both in .44 / .45 caliber. I bought the R&D first, because it's the one I knew about.

But if I squirt a little B12 into the tb it will fire right up and runs great. but If I turn it off and try to restart it will only crank never start.
