This spring connects the pulley to the alternator rotor; it absorbs and dissipates nearly all of the torsional vibration created by the engine acting like a “suspension system” for the belt drive. WebThere are basically three different methods for installing these special pulleys. The methods are the same for both standard clutch pulleys, as well as Litens Overrunning Alternator Decouplers (OADs).
