WebLook-through companies and tax transparency. LTCs are generally transparent for income tax purposes. Tax transparency is achieved by s HB 1 (4). The effect of s HB 1 (4) is that the LTC’s income, expenses, tax credits, gains and losses are passed on to its owners in proportion to their effective look-through interest. WebLosses can be assigned to shareholders to reduce how much tax they must pay, or the look-through company can carry the losses forward into the next financial year.
